Skiing holidays in Italy

Skiing breaks in Italy conjure up instant images of the Italian Alps. However, there are excellent opportunities for skiing holidays in the Dolomites region, as well as Mount Etna in Sicily.
Many ski resorts are familiar as summer destinations – for example, Lake Garda offers hiking in summer, and ski breaks in winter. The resorts are of high quality, with excellent lift networks and attentive ski instructors. Some resorts cater specifically for advanced skiers, while others have numerous non-skiing options.  At Future Travel, we offer affordable skiing breaks at a range of top resorts.

Ski holidays in Piedmont

This region offers first class skiing holidays in a variety of resorts - Piedmont hosted the 2006 Winter Olympics. Today, travellers booking skiing breaks here can ski the same runs the Olympic Skiers used, in resorts like Sestriere and Montgenevre.
The Piedmont district has over 1300 km of runs, and with 53 resorts to choose from, offers ski breaks for everyone. Beginners can learn to ski in peace and safety, while advanced skiers are spoilt for choice.

Skiing breaks at Cervinia and Courmayeur

Located near the Swiss Border, with fantastic runs down the Matterhorn, Cervinia is an excellent low cost alternative to Zermatt. Skiing is available here nearly all year round, and it has some of the longest ski runs in the world.
With a swimming pool, cinema complex and ice skating rink as well as shops and a casino, the resort has 30 ski lifts and dozens of runs to choose from, although its location means ski holidays in Cervinia are best suited to intermediate level and above.
Courmayeur is a traditional alpine village on Mont Blanc, the highest mountain peak in Europe – meaning some of the best skiing holidays in Italy. It has numerous off piste options, great shops and restaurants and lively après ski activities. The resort has 16 ski lifts, and is a superb destination for intermediate to advanced skiers.

Ski breaks in the Italian Dolomites

Located in the Veneto region of Northern Italy, the Dolomites border Austria and offer superb facilities for all levels of skier from beginner to advanced skiers. Popular resorts for ski holidays in the Dolomites include Cortina d'Ampezzo and Val Gardena.  Ortisei is another beautiful resort, popular with cross-country skiing enthusiasts.
Wherever you book ski breaks in Italy you can expect beautiful scenery and first class service and facilities. At Future Travel, we will be pleased to discuss our options for ski holidays in Italy with you.
