The Country of Contrasts

With its beautiful beaches, breathtaking backdrops, warm hospitality and rich history Turkey has something for everyone going on their family holidays.  If you’re looking at last minute breaks then you can do no wrong by making plans to discover what Turkey has to offer.

There are seven regions to explore in Turkey.  Each has its own unique geography, climate and civilisations.  You’ll find most all inclusive holiday packages based in the Mediterranean and Aegean areas.

You will be able to explore ancient sites, travel in the gorgeous countryside and shop in the modern towns.  For beach lovers there are stunning sandy beaches, clear as crystal waters and idyllic bays surrounded by pine groves and oleander.  Throw in around three thousand hours of sunshine every year and you can see why around 4.5 million holiday makers choose Turkey as their family breaks destination.

A Country of History

The Turkish landscape is scattered with castle ruins, palaces of long gone empires and sites of ancient battlegrounds.  For history buffs there are a multitude of sites to be visited and marvels to be wondered at.

However if you prefer to simply lounge in the sun and unwind on the beach there are plenty of coves where you can soak up the rays whilst the warm Mediterranean sea laps at your feet, such as the coves you will find on the Aegean Coast.  If you want to be pampered then visit a hamam.  For the more adventurous there is the Nemrut Daği National Park to visit or if city life is more your thing then Istanbul offers vibrant markets and stylish bars whilst mod Ottoman cuisine is one of the top rated in the world.

Great for Children

There is plenty for children to do if you book an all inclusive holiday where there will be plenty of kids clubs, nearby water parks and activities to suit all age groups.

When to Go

There are seven individual regions but the most important distinction to make is between the coastal region with hot and humid summers and mild winters and the more inland areas which have extremely hot summers and severely cold winters.  The further east you travel the more snow you will find between December and April.

The best times of year to travel there are in the spring from April to May and the autumn from September to October, making it pleasant for sightseeing and it will also help you to avoid the mosquito season.

No matter what type of holiday you’re looking for in Turkey, Future Travel can put together the best package for you saving you the most money. There’s no reason your family holidays should be expensive.
