Tenerife Holidays
Britain’s Favourite Family Holiday
Amongst British families the island of Tenerife is one of the most popular destinations for family holidays, particularly in spring and winter. With its year-round sunshine, beautiful warm and balmy climate and gorgeous beaches it’s no wonder that many holiday makers choose Tenerife for their family holidays. The beaches are the main attraction but there are many other highlights to this island, not least the highest peak in Spain, Mount Teide. Here you can take the kids on a cable car ride to the summit and view the stunning volcanic terrain. There are many parts of Tenerife that are very developed but this does ensure that there are plenty of family friendly hotels and activities catering for children.
As there is good weather all year round you can pick your time to go but be aware that high summer can be very hot for small children so you’ll need to stay out of the midday heat.

Puerto de la Cruz for Entertainment and Culture
There are plenty of things to do on this beautiful island. The north of the island is great for exploring where you’ll find the popular area of Puerto de la Cruz. There are stunning beaches to be found along the coastline here and a day out to Complejo Martianez, a large complex of natural pools and swimming pools is a fabulous day of entertainment for the kids. Puerto de la Cruz itself is a hub of restaurants, shops and hotels with a lively buzzing atmosphere. There are botanical gardens to be found in the town and Loro Parque is a magnificent wildlife park with a huge dolphinarium, shark tank and a large aquarium. There’s also a wide array of small and large exotic wildlife to see. The main attraction at the park is a recent addition – some killer whales that have been housed in sea water that is pumped straight from the Atlantic.
In addition there are plenty of gastronomic delights, ancient relics and outdoor activities to experience.
Tenerife – First for Leisure Activities
There is a plethora of leisure facilities, shopping, outdoor activities and nightlife to be explored in the south. The area is lively and there are fabulous conditions for all sorts of water sports from sailing to surfing to windsurfing to canoeing. A great must-do activity is taking part on a dolphin and whale sight seeing trip. These trips depart daily from all of the main resorts.
This is just a taste of some of the attractions and entertainment available on this sunny island so for more information on last minute holidays available for Tenerife contact Future Travel to find out more.
