St Lucia Holidays
St Lucia the Unspoilt Caribbean Island
St Lucia is one of the most stunning and unspoilt islands of the Caribbean and to make it even more attractive for family holidays it has become easier and cheaper to travel to in recent years. There are some great all inclusive holidays to be snapped up here particularly outside of the popular winter months. There has been some recent development but the island has not become over developed and has maintained its original charm.
St Lucia is definitely the Caribbean paradise with lovely golden sand beaches, clear tropical waters with shoals of colourful shimmering fish, deep green rainforests and a vibrant friendly culture. Many of the tourist facilities are top rated and will fit with all budgets. If you’re looking for a laid back, relaxed and family oriented place for family holidays then St Lucia ticks all the boxes.
Beautiful Beach Weather All Year Round
Temperatures vary between 18 to 25°C from December to May and between 24 to 35°C from June to November. The hottest months are July and August and the heaviest rainfall is seen June to November. The busiest times are from December to February.
St Lucia is relatively new to tourism but you’ll still find some great last minute holidays and all inclusive resorts.
Things to do in St Lucia
If you love the beach then you’ll have all you need here but it’s not just for beach lovers. If your children tire of the golden sands then there is plenty to do. At Soufriere there is the chance to drive into a volcano and if you can handle the smell of bad eggs a trip through bubbling mud pools is a great experience.
Pigeon Island offers sedate hikes to take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. For memorable family holidays, you can go on a marine turtle watch and the children will love staying up to see the arrival of the leatherback turtle by moonlight. Then as an adult treat, relax back in a spa whilst taking in the views of the volcanic peaks over St Lucia.
There are some wonderful cafes, restaurants and bars to choose from which will cater for most tastes. There is mainly western food in the hotels but you should try something Caribbean for the local feel. Fast food such as rotis, callaloo soup or fried chicken and fish are great snacks for days out on the beach. Caribbean stews of mutton, chicken or fish or jerk chicken are great main meals and the fresh fruit here is perfectly mouth watering and sweet.
This island is simply beautiful and offers an idyllic getaway for family holidays. For details of great family holidays or last minute breaks contact our travel advisors at Future Travel today.
