Puerto Banus Holidays

All inclusive holidays and more in Puerto Banus

Puerto Banus, on the Costa del Sol, is a short drive from Marbella – yet as different to that resort as chalk is to chips. Gambling chips, that is, because booking last minute breaks in this resort is to mix with the uber-rich and famous.
Unlike Marbella, Puerto Banus is a fairly recent resort. It began life in the 1970s, when local property tycoon José Banús decided to transform the sleepy fishing harbour into a luxury marina and shopping centre, catering exclusively for the mega-rich.
That was then. Today, it has opened its doors to the general public, and last minute breaks are booked by everyone from stressed out business execs to families looking for all inclusive holidays away from the crowds and nightlife of more traditional resorts.
Puerto Banus holiday complexes are modern, architect designed affairs reflecting the resort as a whole. While some are very exclusive, there are plenty of all inclusive holidays available in more modestly priced accommodation, especially away from the marina. Self-catering family breaks also help to keep the cost down.

Things to do in Puerto Banus

The resort continues to attract wealthy and privileged visitors, who park their yachts in the marina while they shop at the designer boutiques, or sip martinis at the waterfront bars. Mingling with them are singles, couples and children on their family holidays – these days, the resort is open to all.
It isn’t unusual for there to be a flurry of excitement as a famous face arrives at the marina, so pack your autograph books – just in case. With sandy beaches, designer stores, exclusive nightclubs and numerous casinos and restaurants to visit, there are plenty of places to look!
If you want to spend your family holidays on the beach, you have miles to choose from. The sand is perfect for little ones to play in, and the sea in clear and calm. Water sports include windsurfing, snorkelling and jet skiing, with beautiful, bronzed celebrity bodies to show you how it’s done properly.

Wining and dining

Those booking self-catering last minute breaks should eschew the designer outlets of the main streets for the traditional Spanish stores in the older part of town. Here, you will find everything you need, at a sensible price. There is also a bustling market in the bullring.
The marina area is bristling with chic bars, casinos, restaurants and nightclubs. For a quieter time, head towards the old part. There, you will find traditional tapas bars and local restaurants.
Puerto Banus is sleek and exclusive – but not unaffordable. We at Future Travel have last minute breaks and all inclusive holidays in Puerto Banus that will let you experience a millionaire lifestyle – at a bargain price.
