Malia Holidays

Malia for great holidays

If you want it quiet and restful, it’s probably not a good idea to book last minute breaks to Malia, because this Cretan resort wears the word “fun” like a trophy. The combination of long, sandy beaches, year round sunshine and vibrant clubbing scene is second to none. However, it also sports ancient remains, traditional cuisine and spectacular inland beauty.

It’s fair to say that our last minute breaks in Malia appeal more to the young and lively crowd than those looking for traditional family holidays. However, it’s perfect for older families, with a wide mix of water sports and entertainment to prevent boredom seeping in.
We at Future Travel have all inclusive holidays and self catering breaks at Malia throughout the year, mixing sun, sea and fun in equal measure.

Active holidays

Malia’s single main street runs all the way down to the seafront, and is lined with modestly priced bars, clubs and restaurants. Those booking last minute breaks on a “room only” basis will be able to eat out here at very reasonable cost, though there are plenty of places to stock up on local produce, too.
The bars and discos offer an eclectic mix of music for all tastes, including live Greek bouzouki bands. During the day, you can recover on the beach or try one of the many water sports. Activities include jet skiing, parasailing, water skiing and boat trips. The resort also organises football and beach volleyball matches for the tourists.

Cultural last minute breaks

Those wanting a quieter, more cultural experience should explore the Old Town. The 2000 year old Palace of Malia is well worth a visit, and afterwards you can dine at a pleasant family run taverna, nibbling locally grown olives and sampling home made bread and houmous.
Most all inclusive holidays offer excursions to nearby places of interest. Heraklion, with its stunning Venetian architecture, makes a pleasant trip out. Alternatively, you can splash around at the nearby water park, or take to the hills and explore the waterfalls and forests close to the beautiful village of Krasi.

A town that never closes

Clubbers flock to book last minute breaks here, lured by the promise of cheap drinks and a throbbing nightclub scene that doesn’t stop till the sun comes up. By day, they relax on the beach under sheltering parasols – or go paragliding over the waves.
Malia may not be the quiet, picturesque fishing village it once was, but it offers everything you can want from all inclusive holidays in the sun. Why not take a look at the holidays to Malia we at Future Travel have to offer?
