Family breaks and more in La Gomera

La Gomera was once known as a fascinating day excursion for those taking family holidays at nearby Tenerife. Today, it holds the same fascination – only now, people can book last minute breaks and stay on the island itself.
The second smallest of the Canary Islands, family breaks at La Gomera couldn’t be more different to Tenerife. An unspoilt mountainous wilderness that features a UNESCO world heritage site, La Gomera has sandy beaches, unspoilt harbours, a vibrant natural wildlife and some of the best diving in the Canaries.
We at Future Travel invite you to come and explore this unique Canarian paradise with all inclusive holidays and family breaks suitable for all.

Booking last minute breaks in La Gomera

This is not the place to come for sprawling great hotels and purpose-built holiday villages. La Gomera does do all inclusive holidays – but on a small, refined scale. If you could find an island that’s the exact opposite of Tenerife, this is it.
The island’s diverse landscape is spread between four coastal regions and the central World Heritage Site of Garajonay National Park. This small and beautiful rain forest has attained UNESCO status, along with the curious whistling language of El Silbo, which was developed so islanders could communicate across the ravines.

Family breaks on La Gomera

Anywhere here is suitable for family holidays, as every region has its own charm. The western region features the traditional, unspoilt resort of Valle Gran Rey.  A favourite for walkers and cyclists, it has plenty of child-friendly accommodation, complete with donkeys on the beach.
Villahermosa, in the north, has pleasant beaches, a sea water swimming pool and temperate climate. The vibrant banana plantations make for a pleasant afternoon’s stroll.

All inclusive holidays in La Gomera

Hotels here tend to be small and intimate. The largest and most luxurious are at Playa Santiago, in the south and at the historic capital of San Sebastian, in the east.
Don’t book last minute breaks here expecting to have a 24 hour party, because this is an island where you make your own entertainment. That being said, it’s a haven for divers and nature lovers. You can walk for miles among the isolated  Barrancos and never see another soul, while the sea life has to be seen to be believed.
The island was made for family breaks by the seaside – there are no loud bars or thudding discos, just peace and tranquillity. If this sounds like your kind of holiday, then we at Future Travel suggest you book one of our family breaks and discover this Canaries version of Eden for yourself.
