A Holiday of Ease in Kos

Kos is a beautiful destination for those seeking family holidays and last minute breaks and it is also one of the most popular of the Greek Dodecanese islands.  It is the second largest and greenest of the islands with an awe inspiring 2000 year history.  Hippocrates, the father of medicine, was born here and there are many Roman and Hellinistic ruins to be visited.  Kos can be a great beach and sun holiday but also offers much more than this.

Kos has a great tourist infrastructure and you can travel easily between each of the resorts, visit different villages and move from one golden beach to another using the bus and ferry network available.  There are all types of water sport available and a variety of family-friendly entertainment.  If you’re looking for bargain holidays and last minute breaks with beauty and ease then Kos is definitely for you.

Kos – Ideal for All Inclusive Holidays

The best times to visit are between May and mid October.  The hottest and most crowded month is July when temperatures hit the mid-thirties.

Kos has a wide range of hotels and apartments at its resorts from the picturesque Kos Town to the lively Kardamena and the sleepy Kefalos.  Most all inclusive holidays have activities and entertainment included in the price.

All inclusive holidays are a great way to enjoy the island with its resort life and tourist attractions.  You can also take advantage of packages that include your water sport and night entertainment.  Kos Town is a great day trip out; this town is a mix of ancient ruins, beach resorts and vibrant nightclubs.  You can saunter down the ancient streets looking at the stunning street mosaics and Roman architecture which are strangely interspersed with clubs like the Crazy Monster or Lunatic.

Child Friendly Sun and Food

For family holidays, the beaches are great for kids with long sandy beaches and shallow waters for bathing.  Popular choices are Lampi or those on the Southern coast called Sunny, Banana or Paradise.

There is a wide choice of international dishes are served here.  If you’d like to sample the local cuisine then seek out a local taverna where you’ll find traditional Greek food such as Mezedes for starter and traditional main dishes such as moussaka.

This is simply a great location for family holidays or all inclusive holidays if you want a no-hassle beach break.  For more details on Kos family breaks, contact our travel advisors at Future Travel to help navigate the maze of travel options available.
