Holidays to Hisaronu

The Turkish resort of Hisaronu is popular for both family holidays, and last minute breaks for couples and singles. With sublime beaches, a range of sports and activities, shops and markets and year-round sunshine it offers something for everyone.

The summer months in Turkey can be hot an overcrowded. However, Hisaronu’s hilltop location makes it cooler and breezier than adjoining coastal resorts, making it ideal for taking family holidays throughout the year. That being said, booking last minute breaks in June or October offers substantial discounts – and fewer crowds – compared to the summer season, though the temperatures are still in the eighties, and the sea just as warm.

Where to book family breaks in Hisaronu

Resting on a beautiful forested hillside in the south of the Dalaman region, Hisaranu is a popular base from which to explore the beautiful Turquoise Coast. Young families and older people are best off booking all inclusive holidays near the sea front, as the town’s location can make it very hilly in places.

Another option is self-catering family breaks. The town centre is fairly level, with a vibrant weekly market. There is a large number of shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. However, this is also where the south coast’s nightclubs and discos are – worth keeping in mind, especially if you have a young family.

Active family holidays in Hisaronu

Hisaronu is within easy reach of the bustling town of Fethiye, close to the beautiful lagoon and crescent-shaped beach of Olu Deniz. The town is an ideal base from which to plan a walking holiday, surrounded by rugged, scenic beauty and winding forest paths. Nearby are tiny, secluded inlets and coves which can be accessed via the forest trails.

Most all inclusive holidays are centred on the beautiful Olu Deniz beach. However, there are plenty of things to do besides sunbathe and swim. Popular activities include canoeing down the Xanthos River; paragliding off Babadag Mountain; forest paintballing and glass-bottom boat trips.

Excursions are available to Kayakoy, a 13th century town that was abandoned in the 1920s, and the island of Rhodes. The bazaars of Fethiye are another popular choice. At night, people rock on to the small hours in the nightclubs and bars, or take in a meal at one of the traditional restaurants before strolling along the sea front.
