The best beaches are reached by ferry, which set off at regular intervals. There is an excellent range of activities both on and offshore, including snorkelling, scuba diving, wind- and kite-surfing and, of course, swimming. The beaches are ideal for family breaks with young children, who can play in the sand, paddle safely in the shallows, or ride on a pedalo. More advanced swimmers can explore the wonders of the coral reefs with the diving school instructors.
All inclusive holidays in the hotels invariably come with a range of excursions to the Pyramids, Nile and Valley of the Kings. Quad-biking adventures and 4 X 4 desert safaris are also popular, or you can explore the region on 4 legs and go horse-riding.
