Costa Caleta Holidays
Costa Caleta for all inclusive holidays
Costa Caleta, in the Canary Island of Fuerteventura, offers everything you could want in family holidays. Featuring stunning beaches, crystal clear waters and a charming town centre, not to mention water sports, boat trips and excursions, it’s no wonder this resort is so popular for family breaks and all inclusive holidays.
The year-round sunshine makes Costa Caleta a first class destination for last minute breaks out of season. Costa Caleta’s charming harbourside leads to a long, palm-fringed promenade, a glorious crescent-shaped bay and clean, golden sands. We have last minute breaks at Future Travel to suit every budget, from modest self-catering apartments to all inclusive holidays in luxury golf-and-spa hotels.
Activity packed family breaks
If you enjoy water sports, you will love it here. The crystal clear seas are calm enough for safe swimming, while younger children can safely paddle in the shallows. Teens can enjoy water sports like wind surfing, scuba diving and snorkelling, while one of the hotels is so geared towards family holidays that it even has its own water-park.
The resort has grown up around the pretty harbourside and marina, which is lined with al fresco cafes and bars. The town has numerous restaurants, especially in the central plaza, offering everything from local seafood dishes to traditional British fare. As with neighbouring Lanzarote, Fuerteventura has a large ex-pat population.
If your idea of all inclusive holidays is all-night parties and noisy bars, then this isn’t the town for you. The entire resort is geared around family holidays, and last minute breaks here go at a gentler pace than the bigger resorts down south. However, this doesn’t mean Costa Caleta is dead – the town centre has a fair number of up-tempo bars where you can drink or dance until late, and the larger hotels lay on evening entertainment, including discos, throughout the week.
The cultural sights of Costa Caleta
The town itself is historic and picturesque, and there are numerous opportunities for sight-seeing in the area. Family breaks aren’t complete without a visit to the picturesque fortress and 18th century watchtower overlooking the marina.
There are plenty of excursions to neighbouring areas, too, like the volcanic national park, the former capital of scenic Betancuria, and the peaceful island of Isla de Lobos. Of course, you can always rent a motor boat and create your own excursion around the rocky coves and inlets …
We at Future Travel recommend our last minute breaks and all inclusive holidays in Costa Caleta as being the best value fun you can have, whether you’re travelling as a couple, group or family.
