The Canary Islands

The Canary Islands, or Canaries, are made up of seven islands and a combination of one small island and many tiny islets.  These islands with their sunny climes are ideal for all inclusive holidays in the sun or last minute breaks for all the family.

Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria has great tourist attractions and a beautifully sunny climate all year round.  Attractions such as Sioux City and Parque de los Cocodrilos as well as water parks like Aqualand Aquasur will prove firm favourites with all the family.  It is a great destination for both couples and families with its rich nightlife, beautiful beaches in resorts such as Maspalomas and family fun spots.  There is also stunning scenery to experience with beautiful sand dunes, pine forests and volcanic landscapes.

Tenerife

As the largest and highest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is a popular destination.  There is an array of sporting activities to be tried, including water sports such as scuba diving.  If you prefer soaking up the culture then there are many bars and restaurants to be visited in the towns where the local cuisine can be tasted.  For those who like to party, Tenerife is famous for its nightlife in resorts such as Playa de las Américas, or try Costa Adeje for a more laidback holiday.

Fuerteventura

For those who want a tranquil and relaxing holiday then Fuerteventura is a true haven.  With contrasting landscapes from sandy dunes to mountainous scenery to volcanic sites there are plenty of walks to be had in the warm sunshine.  The calm and peaceful atmosphere can be felt at the local attractions also.  Visit La Lajita Zoo or the Oasis Park for fun, family holidays.  The Islote de Lobos Nature Reserve is a beautiful place to visit and there are plenty of breathtaking beaches to enjoy for those seeking last minute breaks to escape the daily grind.

La Palmas

This island is peaceful and unspoiled, rich in culture and with cuisine that will delight the taste buds.  If you don’t choose to spend your whole holiday here then it is worth a visit to experience the untouched natural beauty of this island.

Lanzarote

Lanzarote is particularly popular with holiday makers for last minute breaks.  The south side has a wonderful volcanic view whilst elsewhere on the island you can enjoy both natural sights and vibrant nightlife.  Other attractions include The Cactus Garden and the town of Costa Teguise with its delightful squares of traditional restaurants and bars.

La Gomera

This island is densely green and picturesque.  Visit the national park and El Cedro Forest to fully appreciate the tranquil natural beauty of La Gomera.

El Hierro

El Hierro has small but beautiful beaches and steep impressive cliffs.  Visit attractions such as Iglesia de la Candelaria and Sanctuary of the Holy Mother to truly experience the culture of this island.
