City breaks in Prague

Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and in recent years has become popular with the British for stag and hen parties thanks to its cheap food and drink, but there is so much more to this city and it is ideal not only for cheap last minute breaks but for family breaks too.

At Future Travel, our expert travel advisors are able to advise on the best part of the city to stay in to suit your needs and we have the most affordable prices for some bargain breaks to Prague.

What to do in Prague

Other than enjoying cheap food and drinks in the local bars and restaurants, there is much to see in Prague and you can almost lose yourself along the medieval streets and the architecture.  Take a walk across the Charles Bridge and admire the impressive Gothic Gate.

On the hour of at least one day in your trip to Prague, you must stand in the Old Town Square where the main marketplace used to be.  The Astronomical Clock is one of the most famous in Europe and since 1490, on every hour you will see the wooden statuettes of the saints appear through the trap doors and below you can watch as Vanity, Greed, Death and the Turk teach a lesson of medieval morality.

The number of designer shops throughout Prague is growing all the time and you can pick up some great designer clothes, pieces of handmade jewellery and bright kids clothes just off Národní.

Spring is ideal for those who want to take gentle strolls along the river, whilst in summer the city can become quite warm.  In autumn or winter, the cool crisp air and fresh skies makes Prague a city to rival Paris for romantic breaks.

For those seeking a little nightlife, Prague is starting to see an increase in cocktail bars and restaurants in the old town and prices are still comparatively cheap.
