Benidorm Fiesta 2010

Held each year in November, the Benidorm Fiesta is a spectacular celebration honouring the Patron Saints of Benidorm; La Virgen del Sufrage and Jaime Apostol. Lasting for 6 days, the highlight of the fiesta is the extravagant parade, which features flower-filled carriages and lavish costumes and makes its way through the streets of Benidorm, witnessed by thousands of tourists and locals alike who line the streets to witness the fantastic spectacle. The most outstanding acts include the flower offering, the staging of the ‘finding of the Virgin’, the comic parade, the parade of floats and the spectacular fireworks display that takes place on the last night of the fiesta. Street parties, live music, sporting events and organised concerts are also part of the entertainment.

The majority of the event is held in the old town area of Benidorm. Celebrations can last 24 hours a day during fiesta time, with many of the bars offering afternoon entertainment and cabarets, but do be aware that some of the shops and restaurants that would usually be open in the resort may shut down for the duration of the event. If you are looking for a fun-filled getaway during the usually dreary month of November, then the Benidorm Fiesta is definitely for you!

The dates for the 2010 Benidorm Fiesta are 12th – 17th November.
